Before they became mandatory on all models in 1969 the head restraints more commonly referred to as head rests were an option on the Camaro and are highly sought after by collectors as they are a pretty rare option. The RPO AS2 Head Rest option was available on bench seat cars for 1967 and bucket seat cars for 1967 until the mandatory addition of the head rest seats in 1969.

In 1967 Camaros equiped with headrest seats will show a Y on the trim tag after the interior seat type for bucket seat cars or a T for bench seat equipped cars.
