I purchased this car about 4 years ago in Queens, NY.  My intentions were to eventually give it a full restoration because of what it is.  The original engine is long gone, but the 454 in it is a 73 block, with square port GM heads and an original 375 horse / 396 intake. I don't know anything else about what was done to the motor, but my guess on the power is conservative at 450hp.  I changed the ignition over to MSD to make it more reliable ( box, wires and distributor).  The tranny, which is an M-21, was purchased 4 years ago at Carlisle,Pa, and when it was intstalled a new hayes clutch kit was installed as well. The thow out bearing is starting to go now.  The rear is still the original 12 bolt w/ 3.73's.  The rear end still has the remenants of old school traction bars.

The only history I have on the car is that is was used in the late 70's and early 80's for street drag racing.  The car started life in the city area, was stolen in 1973 and found in the Bronx.  I don't know exactly what was done, but the next owner was the one who raced it.  The motor doesn't have many miles on it because after he passed away it sat in a garage for many years until his son decided to get it out.  He was too young to appreciate it, and sold it to one of his buddies, who in turn, being the same age felt the same way, and that's how I came to own it.  He didn't even know how to distinguish if it was an RS because the lights were stuck in the open position.  After a thorough exam and seeing the car to be more that what it was advertised as, I quickly loaded it on the trailer, and brought it home.  Like I mentioned before, it needed a tranny, tune up, a new flowmaster 3" exhaust front to back from summit, brakes, and new frnt end, along with other odds and ends.

So I have driven the car for four years now, and loved every minute of it, but with my two young kids and trying to finish up the house before snow flies, it would make it easier financially to sell the car.  The only thing it really needs is some signal light work.  My three year old decided to play driving at the end of last year, and reefed on the signal lever, and for some reason the signal lights don't  work now.  Other than that it's ready to rock.  The floors are clean other than a couple spots that looked like they may have rusted from the inside out from moisture or leaky window, but there's no rust flaking under the car.  The trunk and shock towers are solid, but there is a piece of steel welded in the center of the trunk where maybe a fuel cell was at one time.   The sub frame looks like it was welded at one time, but I have a real nice sub-frame that goes with the car that also has a power steering  box on it.  The body has some bondo here and there but it's not a rot box.  And it's also missing a few emblems here and there. The interior is about a 6.  Seats are fine, both front and back, and the headliner is coming apart in a couple places.  I'm pretty sure it had a console at one time, but it doesn't now.  It's missing the speedo, and has a gas gauge in it's place.  It has the 5500 red line tach, and the clock in the middle (which still works).  The motor does leak a little oil, but I think that's from sitting for so long.  It never runs over 180 degrees and holds great oil pressure.

So to sum it up, what I have is a real RS/SS x-22 4 speed camaro.    Anybody can drive a clone, but this is the real thing.   If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.  My name is Travis, and my number is 315-778-2304.
